The HPCF established an Endowment Fund to be funded through financial commitments from local residents and businesses. Such investments in the community may be paid over five years or by bequest as part of one’s estate plan.
Since its inception in 1992, over $2,500,000 has been raised in cash and pledges. The funds collected by the HPCF are managed by our investment committee and have provided a consistent return. The Foundation disburses some or all of the income from the Endowment Fund earned annually. However, the Foundation does not grant funds to pay for capital improvements or fixtures for any group or social agency.
The annual grants provide funds for new initiatives and continuing programs created by Highland Park non-profit agencies such as staff additions and training, youth scholarships, internships. In 2011, the Foundation provided $117,000 in grants.
By identifying the emerging and unmet needs of our dynamic community, the HPCF maximizes community resources and provides the leadership necessary to enrich the lives of all Highland Park residents. |

The Highland Park Community Foundation (HPCF) was established in 1992 to build and maintain the Highland Park Endowment Fund, which provides a dependable source of annual income to support cultural and social service agencies in Highland Park and Highwood. The resulting grants serve to expand the services of our local agencies’ current programs, and support the early stages of new and innovative programs.
