Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad members study a variety of science fields and compete in regional science competitions. Established by two female students, the group hopes to expand their hands-on science experiences and encourage more young women to become interested in science.

College Bound Opportunities
Coaching and preparation for low income and/or first generation students in District 113 in college applications, campus visits and scholarship aid. Provides a computer for students to take to college.

HPHS Homework Club
Structured after-school academic assistance, skill development and test preparation for high school students, providing a 3-day-a-week program during the school year.

Highland Park Golden Apple Award
Rewards outstanding teachers in the Highland Park/Highwood school system. For more information on how the Foundation helped found this program, see the Golden Apple section.

HPHS National Hispanic Institute
Provides six scholarships to the National Hispanic Institute’s Great Debates at DePaul University designed to inspire leadership and encourage college education.

St. James School Service Learning
Students from all grade levels perform community service projects that make them aware of global issues and needs.
Funded since 2005.
North Shore District 112 Service Learning
Promotes positive interaction between students and community. Funds also help with transportation and a bi-lingual Survival Guide.
